Beanies & Belvedere is the 'Brainchild' of Shirley Chan and Clarissa Yeow, two local designers in Vancouver, British Columbia. Named after their own pooches, a Chinese Shar Pei (Beanz) and an Old English Sheepdog (Mr. Belvedere), they founded Beanies and Belvedere Ltd. in 2000 after numerous pleas from family and friends to create 'something nice' for their canine companions that didn't consist solely of nylon and fleece. So, in realizing that there was a growing trend and need for fashionable, high quality outerwear for dogs, Shirley and Clarissa began their quest to re-outfit the most discerning of pets. We are happy to report that along with the many local charity events that we love to take part in each year, a great acheivement is having been recognized by the coordinators of the American Music Awards and the Oscars and supplying them with our beautiful coats!
